Turning Little Liabilities into Big Assets

Little Liabilities Big Assets

Organization Tip #2

Who would you say creates the most messes in your house? Some of you really honest people might say that you are the chief culprits; some will probably say their husbands. But I’m thinking that most would answer: the children.

The Bible says that children are a blessing from the Lord (Ps 127:3-5 NASB). However, I think we can all agree that is not referring to keeping a clean and organized house, naturally speaking! 😛

I do believe that children can be trained to become assets in this area and to work with you (instead of against you :-0 ) to accomplish your goals. Unless trained otherwise, if children make most of the messes, why should it be Mom’s job to do all the housework? Continue Reading

Planner vs Smart Phone

My smart phone is one of my most important organizational tools.

In my last post, I wrote about how I got started on the quest of becoming better organized. When beginning to learn about this issue, I read a lot about using a planner. I was told to write down everything and to never let my planner get more than five feet away from me.

I tried. I really did.

I did pretty well entering my appointments. I found, though, that I had to rewrite the same to-do list over day after day. I finally just put my list on a piece of paper and moved it forward every day. Ugh. Continue Reading

Bless This Mess

September 30, 2016 By Lyndsay Lambert Leave a Comment

Bless This MessI used to have a “Bless This Mess” sign posted in my kitchen. However, one day one of my great aunts visited me and made me take it down.

Well, she didn’t exactly make me.

First, I should probably tell you a little about this lady. She was a true southern lady, and she loved the Lord. She had 10 children and I-don’t-know-how-many grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren used to fight over – not who had to have her at their house but – who got to have her.

She was who I wanted to be when I became her age (which is, I admit, now). When she spoke, I wanted to be sure to listen.

So, she entered my kitchen, saw my sign, and immediately said in her very southern drawl, “Hahney, Gawd can’t bleuss uh mess, for He is nawt the ahtha of confuusion!” Continue Reading

Going Home to Glory

Going Home to Glory

Two years ago I wrote a post called Asking “Why?” about my good friend who had been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer.

Recently my friend went home to be with the Lord. Her death was sudden but not unexpected, since she’d been dealing with the cancer for two years. In human terms, she was too young to die. She had far too much ahead of her and far too much yet to give.

Even in all this, though, the Lord’s goodness still shines through.

Since her diagnosis, God gave her two more years to spend time with her adult children and her husband, giving them time to prepare for her departure. She was able to meet four more of her five grandchildren, including a set of twin boys, now two months old.

She didn’t always feel great and was more and more tired as her treatments went on, but she supported her friends and family with her thoughts and prayers.Continue Reading

About Me

Lambert family

My name is Lyndsay Lambert. When I was a young mom with four children five-years-old and younger, I cried out to God for an older woman who would come alongside me, maybe put her arms around me and just tell me, “This too shall pass.” More about me.
